Stephan J. H. Bauer, Dipl.-Ing. Univ. (TUM), has received an engineering diploma (Dipl.-Ing. Univ.) in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany.

He is a German Patent Attorney (Patentanwalt), a European Patent Attorney (registered representative before the European Patent Office EPO) and European Trademark and Design Attorney (registered representative before the European Union Intellectual Property Office EUIPO). 

His industrial experience includes several years in the metalworking industry, especially in the field of the manufacture of handguns. During his studies at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, the Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and the Technical University of Munich, Mr. Bauer specialized in product development and manufacturing technologies. Since 2014, Mr. Bauer has been working full-time in intellectual property law.

Before he joined Staudt IP Law in 2018, he served clients from various branches of industry, such as automotive, defense, agricultural and medical industry. 

Mr. Bauer is a registered representative before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the German Federal Patent Court (BPatG), the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and, together with an attorney at law, authorized to represent clients before all civil courts. He is fluent in English and has a basic knowledge of French.
